Tuesday August 30, 2011 I will be presenting my work at my former school Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá.

I wanted to see how I was doing on my film by putting the latest stage of each cycle on top of the map/structure of the piece. Getting close to the end only a few weeks before picture-lock.

Studying theories of causality, or cause and effect. Here is a poetic representation of how in a closed system everything interacts with it’s cause and effect. Parallel to the map I’ve created to structure my film, this is helping a lot to find ways on visualizing how things develop in time on such systems. At the end this is what I am trying to create by using animated loops on a limited amount of pieces of paper. The technique of growing cycles (or “infinite cycles” as Adam Beckett named them) generously allows to create this closed systems in which all images have to blend with each other, any gesture becomes part of a new one.

Great use of time displacement. What happens when multiple moments of ourselves converge and are visible in one single moment? powerful visual effect and provocative ideas about time arise.

Animated images dancing with “animated” bodies and vice-versa. Great music and performance. Hope I can see this live and in it’s entirety.

Great use of feedback and simple video delays to create a magnificent choreography and visual symphony. A pleasure for the senses even it’s in documentation.

Wow, pure beauty! besides the great phenomenon of working together, I get moved by the historical aspect of it. A connection to old traditions meaningfully building “towers” in which the younger go on top. The past holding the future. We are “dwarfs standing on the shoulders of giants”.

Cycles, animation and sculpture. Combining pre-cinematic technology with modern digital techniques. Overall a deligthful combination with a mezmerizing result.

Mesmerizing, bizarre, funny…it’s just great the images they are able to construct.
